Article Directories for Niche Blog Traffic?

I'm sure most people here have researched ways to increase blog traffic. Technorati has brought me a little, but I know my numbers are still too small.

Freelance writer Jenn Mattern has said on her writing forums that a writer should never give way his work way for free, but that's what someone who's starting a blog is effectively doing.

I also happen to poke into The Millionaire Secrets blog, some, and its writer pushes using article directories to increase traffic. But hemade a point, today: for blogs, you can take one of the already-written posts to use as an article for those directories.

I'm considering trying this to see if I can't increase blog traffic to "About That Song…" and Cuppa Caff.

I would hardly say my blog posts are given away for free. Sites like communatiwill increase your knowledge, and your blog's PageRank to the point where you will be making several hundred dollars a month. There are at least ten bloggers at communati who are making more than $500 a month, every month. I would hardly call that free.

when you say $500/month do you mean through adsense or through paid to blog sites?

I average $20 - $100 a month from Google. I am not the person to ask about Google, because I prefer commission junction.

I am not on any paid to blog sites.

I earn the rest from commission junction and payperpost. But, I earn much more than $500 - and I know 2 bloggers who own more than I do.

I post about 30 - 50 posts a month, on multiple blogs, and have about 1800 posts online now.

I average about $.10 - $.20 a month - per post, and some of them have been online for 3 years.

I earn about 2/3 from PPP and the rest from cj and other affiliate programs.

Either way you cut it - I do not write for free.

At the moment I do about 4 from ppp but only because of time constraints. Though not professional writer I make quite a bit from blogging.

New Magazines

I see blogs as the new magazines - and if magaziens are allowed to be 70% ads to pay for the content, why not blogs? After all, if no one wanted the information in the ads, then I wouldn't make any money.
