According to a new study released today, 1 in 20 lung cancers in New Zealand can be related to smoking pot. It appears now that one joint has the equivalent of a full pack of twenty cigarettes. The explanation goes to the fact that marijuana smokers do not use filters and tend to smoke the entire joint to the end that contains the most carcinogens that are very harmful to the lungs.  read more »

Another story about those 'harmless creatures' - the stingray. We keep reading about these sea creatures who have attacked a number of humans, some fatally over the years.

The latest occurred in recent days in New Zealand. A Dannevirke, North Island, man in his 40's was dragging a net at Herbertville Beach in the southern Hawkes Bay, when he was attacked.  read more »

Little 'Pumpkin', Qian Xun Xue, the Chinese girl abandoned by her father at a rail station in Melbourne, Australia, about a week ago, has been reunited with her maternal grandmother in Auckland, New Zealand, yesterday. She was brought over to New Zealand by Australian child welfare authorities.  read more »

There was a political call here in New Zealand a couple of years ago by government politicians for a "fart tax"! The pollies claimed it contributed to global warming. Be that as it may, the farmers objected and protested so loudly the idea was discarded.

Cows allegedly produce methane when they fart which goes into the atmosphere and contributes to global warming and climate change.  read more »
