In a first for any news distribution source the Associated Press is mulling over and deciding what guidelines to issue regarding the quotations and use of their copywritten material. This should be an interesting outcome as "fair use" has become a very hard to define doctrine and has been stretched to include many other aspects of copyright law.  read more »

This world we live in gets crazier by the minute. Have you heard the latest copyright news out of Egypt? They plan to pass a law requiring payment of royalties whenever its ancient monuments, from the pyramids to the sphinx, are reproduced. Can you imagine that? I wonder what that means for places like the Luxor in Vegas.  read more »
