We do have a hurricane that will affect Texas, but not this area. It hit near the Texas-Louisiana line and will bring some heavy rain to those areas. We are a long way from the action here in San Antonio.  read more »

Yes, that’s Tuesday. I did not have to write this week about an old bad Monday because I did not have to work. So, it’s an old bad Tuesday!! Not really!! It will be nice. I will have only a four day work week and that makes me happy. I do know at times a four day week seems longer than a five day week for me. I will make it though. I did not go to work day. Our niece was sick. Well, she has been sick all week, strep throat, but her Dad was able to stay with her the last few days. Today he could not be here. It was my turn to stay with her and we had a great day. She just does not feel good. She is doing much better tonight. She will be able to go to daycare tomorrow. That is good.  read more »

We've been lucky - again. We had some high winds which have thrown some stuff around, but otherwise we're ok.

There's more bad weather ahead for the rest of the day, but Hurricane Dean has passed us by.

Now we just have to hope that St Lucia and Dominica escape. Those islands have borne the brunt of hurricane damage in the region for several decades.

Hurricane season is here again, and in the Caribbean there's always the question of whether this one will be the big one. Hurricane Dean has been threatening us all day, so we're waiting with bated breath to see what the outcome will be. I'm hoping that we'll be lucky again.  read more »
