Are novels works of art or simply 'product'?

But for the author, considering a book as similar to any other widget that's stamped out and packaged in a factory is disconcerting. read more »

What the hell do I do now that the novel's 'done'?
Submitted by Trick Falls on Wed, 11/14/2007 - 16:10.Here's why I don't do the NaNo thing: 235,000 words divided by 168 months = 1,398.8095 words per month.
Truth be told, there were a few writing gaps in the mix, so maybe I averaged 3,000 words per month!
Now that the novel's "done" I feel like I've lost my security blanket. (Perhaps I ended it too soon.) read more »
