Will Smith invoked the name of Hitler in a sentence to make a point about people being basically good and of course a reporter then goes on to show how wrong he is. It's not that I wouldn't like the world to be fully loaded with benevolence and kindness but it just isn't so.  read more »

Bringing Religion into Christmas?

This past Sunday, my pastor mentioned that a couple of years ago, while at the mall, he was admiring the nativity scene on display. He tried to affirm his feelings with a woman passing by when he commented, "this is nice, isn't it?" Christmas on My Mind

I haven't put up my Christmas decorations yet - we always do the tree late anyway. I usually have a hard time getting into things. I finally figured out the problem - the constant pressure to buy gifts and shop takes a toll on my enjoyment.

Lightweight Christmas?

I was in a mall yesterday and noticed the number of people 3 weeks out from Christmas, a bit light. I then took further notice and saw over half of the families not carrying bags and wondered, "are people cutting back this year?" I know I have to, the business shutting down, and the losses sustain force me to. What about you. Has the slowdown of the economy affected you at all?  read more »

In our Politically correct society maybe we should re-think our major holidays, I mean we can't have religion and the state intermingled, can we?
As you are aware I'm in Canada so I'll use Canadian celebrations but I'm sure most are the same in other countries.
