Print-on-demand (POD) publishers such as Lulu.com make it very easy for clubs and friends to put together and publish books created by multiple contributors.  read more »

I know it seems like yesterday when we were all writing down what our New year's resolutions would be. How have you done? I opted to read 52 books this year and I am way behind. I don't know what happened! I was going along really well, and then sumer hit. Maybe that is it? Maybe summer was the killer? I don't know but here we are in September and I am mostly stuck in the first third of my list.  read more »

In the book business, books are often referred to as units. Understandable, perhaps, within the world of shipping and inventory control. But for the author, considering a book as similar to any other widget that's stamped out and packaged in a factory is disconcerting.  read more »
