A Calling

How many times does one person get to predict future events?

Let's look into the future from past statements that I've espoused... If George Walker Bush and his Vice President aren't impeached our country would befall real hard times. If George Walker Bush and his Vice President would go to war in Iran our country would befall catastrophic loses the sting would be similar to walking into a hornets nest or worse a hive of killer bee's. We would be a rogue monster injecting a cancer into the world in the Middle East we would be the terrorist setting foot in a den of vipers.

Since George Walker Bush has been president for the last nearly eight years it seems to me that we can thank his administration for a war in Iraq, for the high price of petroleum products along with a faultering economy which was about to burst, both the housing market and the resulting inflation that allows millions of Americans to lose their retirement savings as a result of a lack of accountability.

The problems are only going to get worse before they get better as crime is about to skyrocket while people turn to stealing from each other as though there are no laws to prevent criminal conduct the result of a lack of accountability.

Many jobs will be lost as inflation increases sending our nation into a depression worse than any we have ever experienced before.

Get ready for rationing as the country sinks a little deeper into debt.

A lack of income will result in a lack of community services and where will the local communities tighten their belts first? More people will be looking for work and a downward spiral will be taking root.

The only  way to repair the process is to get in a person that knows the real change required to set our nation back on its feet once again, we need a strong leader that can change the direction and focus on the good and pull us away from the bad. We need change, we need to turn the tide.

It's hard to prove cause and effect...

...between the actions you mention and the problems facing the country. Without an alternate universe where those actions didn't occur, we can't see what would have happened anyway.

I didn't vote for Bush and I don't like his policies.  But I don't think we can say that everything "bad" came from those policies. One of the problems here is that Americans have gotten too used to the government fixing everything. And basically, that means taking money from one person and solving somebody else's problems with it. That's not the kind of change I'm looking for.

I'd rather see people admit that buying more than they can afford is what got them into a fix rather than expecting the government to come bail them out. Nobody told them to max out their credit cards and then, at 21 years of age, buy a house their parents saved all their lives in order to afford.

Bush had nothing to do with that.

scary, shaky future

it does seem scary and shaky what my kids are facing as their future...and the candidates up for nomination are just as scary and shaky in my mind! I agree that we need change, but I do agree w/ TF that it will have to begin at home. we are talking about how to feasibly go about riding our bikes around the community, in a place where it is just not safe to do so (no shoulders, sidewalks, not enough crosswalks, freeways to cross, etc...) and no public transport either...we are trying to make small changes and hope that those will grow within our homes as well as in our community. it is tough and may get much tougher before it's all over....
