I just want to wish each and every one of you that stuck it through a big THANK YOU! I hope that this site can grow into one of the best sites on the internet, and with all of you , I see that as a definite possibility.

The Big Question

What took so long for the transfer? Let me just say that I don't want to live through the nightmare again any time soon. I think I would rather have my teeth drilled without any novacaine. One of the biggest things was going through and updating the software--mostly security issues. Second was getting rid of modules that weren't widely used. Other features may not be available right now pending modular upgrades.

Known Issues:

- Some entries not visible to anonymous users dating back to Sept. '07. Members can view fine when logged in. If some of your posts are are affected and you want anonymous viewers to see your posts, go to that entry and re-submit it, making sure status is set to "Publish." This is optional. All data is still intact, just not showing because of a little glitch during the transfer. I am working on getting them to show where they should. No worries!  ** FIXED **

- Clean URLs not working. I am working with the hosting firm to correct this. In the meantime, clean URLS (links without the weird "/?q=...") are being generated for their future use.

- WYSIWYG editor. I am updating the editor, too, but I wanted to get the site back up ASAP. The standard HTML codes will be available as usual.

Other Issues I'm sure other issues are out there. I've tried to cover as many bases as I can. Please drop me a PRIVATE email if you come across a problem via the contact form.

Post should be there...

You just need to go back to each one and re-save them. Then they should appear again. There are too many for me to do it myself, but if each blogger does it, it should go much quicker....especially for me. Eye-wink

Nope, nothing in unpublished

Site looks great!

You've been busy. I like the way there seems to be more white space. It's easier on the eyes.

Posts gone

All my posts since last August have disappeared Sad. They aren't in unpublished content, either.

The entires will show that

The entires will show that they are published, and because of that, they will not be in the "unpublished" list. It's on my to-do list to get them back where they belong (reminds me of the Beatles' song). The entries aren't lost, just giving me a dickens of a time getting them to show up where they should show up.

Gone, gone, gone

Yup, all mine after August are gone, too. Nothing in Unpublished. Guess I've just lost them.

I guess your nightmare

I guess your nightmare answers my question about using Drupal for CMS. I've been playing with Joomla, contemplating moving my company's website over to a CMS system to help ease the pain of adding content on a regular basis.

As to this site, I have been checking daily, anxiously awaiting its return. Now that we are back online, I can feel safe to post again.

Great job!

It's the transfer, not the CMS

Drupal is really good for sites that will have a multitude of users. If you are just considering publishing something for others to view and comment on, I recommend WordPress. It's easy to set up and easy to modify--plus it looks really nice.

Welcome back!

Okay, you're back on line and so am I with you :)

I'm curious about the technical end as you have conversed with Luke about, but I really don't understand who you were and are currently using.

Communati was on Drupal correct? And now you are using (?) if I'm not prying into the technical stuff too much, I'm a little curious where we were and where we are.

I know Gracepub also uses Wordpress or so I think that is her set up or server locale. I'm also hoping that if there is a cost for getting a site like this created that the financial burden is offset by the potential that is derived from the pesky unmentionables... LOL Smiling
